My lovely new sports shoes

Apparently I am getting "cuddly". This is what the eight year old said to me the other day. I know I shouldn't have asked him why, as I really did know the answer to the question. He smiled at me in that innocent and angelic way and prodding my tummy, he said; "You are getting cuddly around here, your tummy is all soft and squidgy."

I thanked him, secretly crossing off at least half of his Christmas presents off my shopping list in my head, and sat in quiet contemplation about the sad state of my 'squidginess'.

My road to fitness it a little like a roller coaster ride, although there are definitely more downs than ups. The thing is life is busy, I don't really have a lot of time for doing exercise and I love eating. It is a really bad combination. I do have bursts of enthusiasm every now and then and I will throw myself whole heartedly into one particular type of exercise or into healthy eating only to have a 'bad day' which throws me back into comfort eating and hiding under a duvet in front of the television.

However, the one thing that I have done in the past that has worked quite well for me is running. Well I say running, it was more of a 'runwalk', so I have decided that I am going to try and start 'runwalking' again with a little help from sportsshoes.com.  If you are looking for sport shoes of any type, I recommend you check out their web site as it is really impressive.  They have a huge range of shoes and clothing for a range of different sports and the selection of running shoes is incredible; with styles and prices to suit everyone and anyone. In addition, they give you advice about the right shoe for you and which size you should buy, which I found really useful, especially as I never realised that you should buy running shoes that are half a size bigger than your shoe size before.

After much deliberation, I chose these running shoes; ASICS LADY GEL-1170 RUNNING SHOES.

I have to say that they are great.  They have gel cushioning system which makes them extra comfortable.

I have been out in my new running shoes a couple of times and although I was walking (to break them in), I think that they are going to inspire me to get out and do some exercise before Christmas and then I can enjoy a few extras without feeling too guilty.

I was sent a pair of running shoes free of charge for the purpose of this review.  All opinions are my own.

  1. What I was trying to say was.....how fab! I started running a few years ago and loved it - unfortunately, due to a sore knee, I had to give up :( I was gutted. It may well have been down to the trainers but as they were so expensive, I didn't want to invest in a new pair to find out....if anyone reading this would like to donate a pair, I'd be more than willing to find out! Happy exercising. I hope these trainers do the job :)
